KALANIANAʻOLE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS

CHALLENGE
The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation manages all public airports, commercial harbors and Hawaiʻi's highway system.
Since 2014, Māmaka has offered a range of services on various HDOT projects - supporting mobility and transportation equity in Hawaiʻi.
HDOT continues improvements along Kalanianaʻole Highway in Waimānalo from Poalima Street to the vicinity of Makai Pier. Phase 2 improvements began in January 2022 and continues through 2023. Work is being done in phases to alleviate traffic impacts and includes road resurfacing, pavement reconstruction, upgrading of existing guardrails, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, bus pullouts, walkway resurfacing, pavement marking and signage, drainage, and other improvements.
